The sun sets. The country night life emerges to greet Mia. Mia strolls down to the lake, walks to the end of the dock, sits on the edge, her feet dangling just inches from the surface now. She feels right for the first time in over 20 years. Her prayers for peace and change have been answered. Mia looks up, and speaks with a smile to a presence she feels right in front of her, “I’m gonna be fine. I still feel the pain, but it doesn’t hurt anymore.” She is, finally, at peace.
